What Our Calculators Do NOT Include

Our calculators are federal-only MVP tools. The following items are not modeled and could significantly affect your actual tax liability:

Filing Status Approximation

For Married Filing Jointly and Head of Household, our federal income tax calculation uses standard deduction amounts specific to each filing status. However, the QBI deduction model uses simplified threshold and phase-in logic. If your situation involves income near the QBI thresholds ($201,750 for Single/MFS or $403,500 for MFJ in 2026), the QBI deduction estimate may differ from the actual IRS calculation.

For Married Filing Separately, the standard deduction is $15,000 (same as Single) and the QBI threshold is $201,775. Community property state rules are not modeled.
